About the District Advisory Council
The Franklin County District Advisory Council is made up of the Chairman of each group of township trustees, the Mayor of each village and the President of the Board of County Commissioners. The makeup and creation of the District Advisory Council was determined by the State Legislature in 1919. The District Advisory Council is mandated under section 3709.03 of the Ohio Revised Code to meet annually in March with the Health Commissioner for the purpose of appointing its officers (Chairman and Secretary), appointing a member to the board of health, receiving and considering the annual or special reports from the board of health, and making recommendations to the board of health or to the department of health in regard to matters for the betterment of health and sanitation within the district or for needed legislation.
