Found a Lost Pet?

If you have found a lost pet that is wearing identification tags we have three options that may help you find the owner.

If the animal is wearing a rabies tag

If the animal is wearing a rabies tag, enter the entire tag number (including the letter at the beginning) below. The name and phone number of the veterinarian who issued the tag will appear. You can contact the veterinarian and they will help you locate the owner.

If the dog is wearing a Franklin County Dog License

If the dog is wearing a Franklin County Dog License, visit the Franklin County Auditor’s Office online search tool or call the Franklin County Dog Shelter at (614) 525-3400. Visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter website for additional information on what to do if you found or are looking for a lost pet.

If the lost dog does not have identification or tags

If the lost dog does not have identification or tags, call the Franklin County Dog Warden at (614) 525-3400 or visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter website for additional information on what to do if you found or are looking for a lost pet.
