If you have found a lost pet that is wearing identification tags, there are three options to help find the owner.

RABIES VACCINATION

FCPH hosts four low-cost rabies immunizations every year for dogs and cats.

All dogs and cats in Franklin County are required to be vaccinated against rabies and are required to wear their rabies tag.

ANIMAL BITES & QUARANTINE

FCPH is required to quarantine all dogs, cats and ferrets that bite people.

According to Ohio Administrative Code 3701-3-28, “Whenever a person is bitten by a dog or other mammal, report of such bite shall be made within 24 hours to the health commissioner of the district in which the bite occurred.”
