Jacob (Jake) Bueno de Mesquita obtained his PhD from the University of Maryland where his research focused on modes of influenza transmission. He is currently a post-doctoral associate at the University of Maryland where he operates studies of respiratory infection transmission and identification of contagious biomarkers in campus dormitories. After completing his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, Dr. Bueno de Mesquita joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Public Health Associate. During this two year field assignment he was stationed at the Union County Health Department located in Marysville, Ohio. Here he worked with interdisciplinary public health professionals to strengthen community resilience in response to biological hazards and improving reach of evidence based immunization and clinical public health services.
