Report Disease

How We Help

Disease Reporting and Monitoring

  • We monitor and keep track of diseases reported through the combined reporting system for Franklin County and City of Columbus, Infectious Disease Reporting System (IDRS).
  • Depending on where outbreaks occur, we work with residents, schools and business to track, control and limit further disease spread.

Disease Prevention

  • Our team notifies the public of their risk of infectious disease spread and characteristics of diseases on fact sheet located on IDRS.
  • We develop messaging with our agency teams and outside partners to prevent disease spread in our county.
  • We coordinate the exchange of relevant information regarding diseases.
